Let me just start this by saying that I have known Ally (the bride) for years. I found her one day while searching for a new hair stylist, and I’ve been loyal ever since! So, if you are in need of amazing hair – you can find her at Blonde Faith Salon or on instagram under @hairbyallyfeezel. 🙂
When Ally got engaged, our salon chair conversations switched gears into discussing all of her wedding flower dreams…which I loved! I had always hoped that when she was to get married, we could work together so I could show her how much I appreciate those shampoo bowl massages through the gift of wedding flowers! Our visions aligned, and I was beyond thrilled when Ally decided to choose me as her wedding floral designer.
Ally had a clear vision of the vibe she wanted with her designs – European inspired, fresh, natural, and timeless. The main color palette consisted of whites and creams, shades of silvery green, and few pops of blush and dusty blue. Can I just say how much I love incorporating a steel/dusty/gray/blue? It’s just gorgeous…especially when using velvet ribbon! 😉
Ally and her Bridesmaids carried bouquets that were full of texture (because you know me, all about that texture) – a variety of soft, plush blooms and organic foliage. This combination was the perfect pop of contrast against the gowns!
The ceremony took place in a grove of trees, which gave me the opportunity to create a gorgeous design on one of the main tree trunks. I used so many fun materials in the design – snowberries, lisianthus, garden roses, spray roses, pieris japonica, butterfly ranunculus, and more…it was perfection. If you could smell it through the screen, your day would be made! To dress up the aisle without distracting from the main design, I placed mini garlands with chiffon ribbon on every other row of chairs.
How sweet is this photo of Eric waiting for Ally? They are just the cutest!!
The reception took place under a tent, adorned with string lights. To dress up the space and bring the outdoors in, I added fresh greenery to the lights – and am so glad I did. The light and airy tendrils of foliage really warmed up the space and made the tent so much more inviting!
The guest tables had the most beautiful designs, full of lush blooms – using our gray ceramic compotes and flickering led candles. These containers tied in perfectly with the European vibe! The head table held a thick garland of eucalyptus, adorned with our gold geometric terrariums, a few gold metallic bud vases, more flickering led candles of course, and gold brushed honeycomb glass cylinders to hold the repurposed Bridal party bouquets. I loved how the details came together!
Here are more of my fav moments from this special day…
Let me fill you in on a little secret. When the reception starts to wind down, the last song is played, and the guests are instructed to go line up for the celebratory exit – the Bride and Groom are given a moment to have one final private dance…a few minutes to soak everything in, be alone, and enjoy the moment. 99% of the time when this happens, I am waiting (out of sight of course) with my cart so I can come in and begin the tear-down process…but I always sneak a peek of the couple because it’s so darn sweet! And yes, my eyes are usually full of tears because I feel so honored to have been a part of it all. When I was watching Ally and Eric enjoying their last dance, my heart was just so full of joy for them…and I totally had tears rolling down my cheeks. After they were finished and started to walk out for the sparkler exit, I went in to get started with tear down…and Ally walked up to me to give me a hug and thanked me for everything. I was literally a puddle of goo on the inside at this point, but I kept it together! That moment completely made my day. That moment is why I climb all the ladders, carry all the buckets, hang all the things, and endure all the rose thorns. That moment is why I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!
Ally and Eric – thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your special day! I’m beyond grateful to you for trusting me with your wedding flowers, and I will forever remember the joy you shared on this magical day!
