I was first introduced to Gabrielle by her wedding planner, Ren Newey. For those of you who don’t know Ren of 36th Street Events – she is seriously amazing, and I love working with her! We had our first meeting at a local coffee shop, where I listened to Gabrielle describe her dream wedding over an English muffin and a latte. It took one meeting for me to pull together a perfect design vision, and I knew that we were going to work so well together!
Gabrielle described her dream wedding as moody, romantic, and natural – with a touch of glam. She wanted a beautiful color palette reminiscent of Fall, with tones of lavender, gray, burgundy, rose gold, chocolate, copper, blush, eggplant, and mustard. With an open mind and complete trust in the creative process, I was able to pull in some very fun and unique items for her designs…like rose gold fern, antique lavender spray roses, seasonal grasses, and burgundy dahlias.
I had so much fun creating the bridal party bouquets – I mean, look at them! They are packed to the brim with a variety of textures, so many different materials, and that color palette is just perfect. We finished all of the bouquets off with black chiffon ribbon, which worked as a great neutral – and tied in with other elements of the designs smoothly.
The boutonnieres were a lovely compliment to the bouquets – full of unique textures, and finished off with black chiffon ribbon as well.
The ceremony took place in downtown Austin, at Saint Mary Cathedral. The architecture is just beyond! We wanted to keep things simple for the interior, while creating a bold statement. Draping the ends of the pews with lush garlands really created drama without taking away from the beauty of the interior.
Also – how precious are the flower girls?! I loved making sweet flower crowns for them…just adorable! While the guests transitioned to the reception site at Garden Grove, Gabrielle and Matt took a minute to soak in the moment…
The reception took place outdoors, under a beautiful sperry tent. The weather, per usual, had been a little crazy during the days prior – but the wedding day itself could not have been more lovely! The guests were welcomed to the reception with a cocktail hour by the pool. We adorned some of the gorgeous signage, and kept the cocktail tables simple by using our gold metal bud vases as a trio.
I loved, loved, loved the designs for the reception area!! Gabrielle was open to creativity, so I was able to utilize a wide variety of items from our rental collection to create unique designs. Some of the guest tables had a trio of smoky infinity glass cubes with candles, some had a trio of gold candlesticks with black tapers and blooms, some had greenery garlands, etc. We pulled all of the design elements together for the head table – using a super thick handmade garland as an anchor. SO GORGEOUS!
As the sun went down and the evening progressed, you can only imagine how romantic it was under that tent with all of the flickering candlelight…just dreamy! We also adorned the front of the stage with some trailing greenery, and created a cute floral hair comb for Gabrielle to pop in at the reception.
The cake table and bar shelving were also a fun area! We adorned the see-through shelves behind the bar with trailing greenery, along with laying bridesmaid bouquets on the shelves for a pop of color. Adding in a trio of wooden crates, flickering led candles, and loose blooms to the cake table really brought this area to life and turned out so pretty in photos!
One of my favorite moments captured from this day was the one below – Gabrielle’s parents seeing her all dolled up and ready to go to the ceremony. Seriously, how sweet is this? Makes my eyes water just thinking about it!!
To Gabrielle and Matt – I am beyond grateful for you both!! Thank you for choosing us to take care of your wedding floral designs on such a special day in your lives, and for trusting us through the process to bring your vision to life. Joel and I wish you nothing but the best!!
