Everyone, meet Julia and Aaron. The first time I met this sweet couple, I had to do a double-take. Does he not look just like Jason Bateman? Crazy! My first meeting with this couple, Julia’s parents, and Ren of 36th Street Events was wonderful. Julia had a clear vision of how she wanted her designs to look. She had a color palette in mind, and was open to exploring a wide variety of blooms and greens for her designs. We discussed her options, including all of the fun and uniquely textured blooms I could think of. I distinctly remember her dad saying something about “the anatomy of a thistle”…and knew I had to include them! For those of you that don’t know, those are the little blue spikey looking ones. 🙂
I really loved the color palette we chose for the designs…it was the perfect combination of Summer tones, leading into an early Fall. Shades of apple red, dusty blue, tangerine, blush, gray, and white – with an array of textures…
The bridal party wore the most beautiful shade of dusty blue gowns, which complimented the bouquets perfectly and really brought out those pops of red ranunculus!
The ceremony took place in Downtown Austin, at Saint Mary Cathedral. The architecture is breathtaking! We created large floral designs to be placed in the back of the altar area, something that would add softness and blend in with the color of the cathedral – while still tying into the overall color palette.
The reception took place at Green Pastures in Austin, the same place where the Bride’s parents were married! How special is that? This is a lovely venue, with trees providing lots of shade and sweet peacocks roaming the property.
The guest tables included our gold mercury compotes, paired with votive candles. For the head table, I wanted to do something different that would compliment the size of the table. So, we opted to create a long and low, lush design mixed with votives and our gold metal bud vases. It was perfect, especially in front of those windows!
Here are some more of my favorite moments from this beautiful day! Don’t you love that floral hair piece? 🙂
Julia and Aaron, thank you so much for choosing us to design your wedding flowers! I loved working with you both, along with your kind family. Wishing you both all the best!!
